How to reduce your wait time

  • Apply at a test centre in a county with a shorter wait; you are not restricted to your home county.
  • Book your theory test early. You must pass it before you can apply for your practical test.
  • Complete your 12 EDT lessons as soon as possible, as you need them all done before booking the practical test.
  • Check MyRoadTest regularly for cancellations, as slots open up at short notice.
  • Work with an ADI instructor who knows examiner standards. Passing first time means no re-wait.

Start your EDT lessons now. The clock is ticking.

You can't book your driving test until all 12 EDT lessons are completed and uploaded. Once they are, you'll join the waiting list, which currently sits at around 10 weeks nationally. The sooner you start, the sooner you're road-legal.
